Currently under construction in the Upper Allgäu is the first hotel, which is shown to satisfy the Passive house standard. The high standard of design and construction is assured by a neutral certification. This is a unique project worldwide and shows the basic attitude of investors to build both sustainably and economically. Emphasis is to be placed on quality in planning and execution of special value.

The "Passive Hotel" with 154 beds is been planned at the moment by regional firms, whom are under pressure due to the time constraints. The hotel is due to open December 2010.The construction process will be over looked by experienced consultants on behalf of the clients. Herz & Lang manage to ensure the high standard of Passive construction which allows for the certification.

In addition to the concept of quality and certification, the building is included in the European green building program in order to emphasize the sustainability of the project. Herz & Lang are the only planning office in the Allgäu that are recognized supporters of the Green Building Program and have already launched several projects for recognition.
